Everyday I get pressure head-aches, tired head-aches, fatigue headaches, sinus headaches, HEADACHES HEADACHES HEADACHES!!! It's always headaches and I don't know why! So I take a nap or eat but still HEADACHE so I take some meds, they help but I don't feel like taking asprin anymore!
I also suffer from insomnia or sleep apnea, is that connected in some way?

Help me get rid of headaches!!!

You have headaches b/c you don't want to have sex despite the fact you are supposed to, you don't want to work, you want to stay in bed and get waited on by others hand and foot… Having never suffered from this invisible ailment, I conclude that there is no such thing as a headache. It's a myth, an old wives tale. It can't be. How can a persons head ache? there are no pain pain receptors in the head!

For users of the bebesounds angelcare monitor, please help!!! I am terrified!?

Written by admin on March 22, 2009 – 6:03 am -

We got this monitor off our registry at babys r us and it has been great. My son is now 4.5 months old. This morning for the first time ever the alarm went off while he was in his crib. We RAN to his room and he had either already started breathing again or the monitor malfunctioned and went off on it's own. He was still asleep. Well obviously it scared me to death! Just now during his nap, it did it again (just the warning beep though this time) I ran up again and he was asleep and breathing normally. He has never had an issue with breathing before. Do you think it could be malfunctioning or could my son be getting sleep apnea. If you have experienced this and it is breaking will the manufacturer replace it?

I actually do not use this monitor, but I read online reviews about how if the baby moves off of the sensor pad during sleep, that it will trigger the alarm. Your son is 4 months old, so I am sure he moves around in his crib some. That could be a possibility. Also, that is an electronic device. There is no electronic device out there that doesn't or hasn't malfunctioned at one time or another. I wouldn't worry too much unless this keeps happening on a regular basis. Call his pediatrician if you are REALLY concerned… I am a first time mom and I am constantly checking on my daughter… Sometimes not using monitors like that are better than using them… If that alarm goes off, it makes you think that something is wrong, when 9 times out of 10, everything is fine… Good Luck mama!

Did you notice a big improvement with use of the CPAP machine?

Written by admin on March 22, 2009 – 6:02 am -

I have recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea and just got a CPAP machine. It's taking some getting used to, and I have used it only during the day so far when I'm awake. Hopefully, I'll get used to it soon and will be able to use it when sleeping.

My question: What benefits did you users notice? I have extreme daytime fatigue and often feel like I'm functioning at only about 50% cognitively. Do you feel more alert and focused from improved quality of sleep with the CPAP?
I just got the CPAP today. I spent about half an hour with the mask, with the technician monitoring and giving me instructions and etc. When I had my last sleep test, I spent some time awake with it on, and managed to sleep a few hours with it.

I'm not accustomed to anything on or near my face when I'm sleeping, and I have to stay pretty much in one position.

I plan to try to sleep with it tomorrow night. It's not like I've had it for months and am refusing to use it! It's just new and foreign to me.

My husband has been using his CPAP machine for about 6 years now. Before, my husband would fall asleep without notice anytime of the day, as soon as he sat down. I don't think he ever saw a whole movie without falling asleep on it. Also, he was very cranky, moody, and tired all the time. Then, he started having chest pain. He had a sleep study done and they said he would stop breathing numerous times during the night (which I already knew and I would elbow him to get him to breathe again). This pain scared him into using his machine. It was very hard at first for him, but now he cannot sleep without it. It is hard to get used to, but you can do it. Also, don't use it when you are awake unless your doctor wants you to, your body must get used to SLEEPING with it on. And yes, he is more alert, he can watch a whole movie, and he is not so cranky all the time. The doctor says he has slight heart damage from all of the years of having sleep apnea, but it is only noticeable on an EKG. He does not have anymore chest pain. Maybe you can take a sleep aid to help you sleep with it on while getting used to it, but please keep trying. You'll learn to use it and you won't be able to sleep without it. Good luck!

not feeling soo great..pressure on back of head and waking up at night….??

Written by admin on March 22, 2009 – 6:02 am -

well im 14 and this week i have had this weird pressure on the lower back part of my head..its not painful or anything tho..also i sometimes wake up right when im about to fall asleep because it felt like i stopped breathing…last night it happend; i was about 2 fall asleep but then i felt like i stoppped braething and then woke up. felt dizzy as i was going to the bathroom and i guess it was b/c i panicked…but anyways i dont have sleep apnea because i saw a cardio logist and he did a ultra sound and said im fine…so what else could it be? what can i do? i also had this chronic sinus issues ever since i was little..the doc. said that my ears is shaped a little differentley too.
oh i also relized that i can pop my ears like 24/7..doc said mayb beacause of my ears..idont know! mayb cause its hot now or allergies?? thanks!!
the headaches dont cause me to wake up…they are temporarily they happen thorough out the day..tylenol maybe?

As someone else said, cannot diagnose as I am not a doctor. However, a headache that wakes you up is not a good thing. Also, difficulty with breathing is never a good thing either. You really need to have a doctor find what is causing these symptoms. Personally as there is a headache issue it would be reasonable that you see a neurologist about this but, your personal doctor can also do tests to find out the cause (certainly someone needs to).
Hope you find this helpful. Take care.

Sleep Apnea?

Written by admin on March 22, 2009 – 6:02 am -

My friend and I both have sleep apnea. but sometimes I cant wake up from my sleep is this also sleep apnea. And is there a way to cure or treat it. Its really scarry. It sometimes make me afraid to go to sleep. but this is monstly when I'm sick with a sore throat my breathing worsens.

You need to speak to your doctor about this. One of the most common ways of treating OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) is CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). Basically, it's a machine that you sleep with. You wear a mask and the machine helps open your airways. That's a *very* basic way of explaining it, though. Talk to your doctor, he or she may recommend that you have a sleep study done in a lab so that they can try to figure out exactly what's going on with you.

does anyone know about different kinds of sleep disorders?

Written by admin on March 22, 2009 – 6:02 am -

I don't personally know much at all about them, but neurologists know quite a bit about them. I recommend that you speak to a neurologist about this or search the internet for the specific sleep disorder you have in mind. May peace be upon you.

Perhaps this will help.

If you suffer from sleep apnea, is it possible to be violent in your sleep and not remember?

Written by admin on March 22, 2009 – 6:02 am -

A friend's brother beat the crap out of his girlfriend, went home and went to bed, and the next day didn't remember a single thing about the night before. He was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea, and his defense is using sleep apnea as the reason behind the beating. I've never heard of that, but I'm not an expert on sleep apnea. Does anyone know?

Here is a good link regarding sleep apnea and violence during sleep.

Hope this helps!
